CALL TO ORDER
After Committee Meetings were held start at 9:00 a.m., Chairperson Mike Dunn called the meeting to order at 9:36 a.m. and a quorum was established.
Approval of January Minutes
Mary Igo presented the minutes from the January meeting. Paul Martinelli, West Virginia University, moved that we accept the minutes as presented. Mary Alltop, Glenville State College, seconded the motion. Motion unanimously approved.
Committees Reports
Mike Dunn, Chairman, asked for updates from the committee chairpersons.
Student Retention and Educate WV
Committee - report by Johnna Beane, WVU Health
Sciences Center - Charleston Division
Legislative Committee - report by Ken Harbaugh, Shepherd University
Discussion ensued about upcoming anti-bully legislations and
the need to support this bill because it will help
create a healthy and safe workplace.
Web and Communications Committee

held at Eastern Community and Technical College.
Announcements
The West Virginia Advisory Council
of Classified Employees would like to thank
Marshall University Graduate College
for kindly allowing us the use of one of their meeting rooms.
There being no further business to come before the assembly,
Tim Beardsley, WVU at Parkersburg, moved that we adjourn the
meeting. Natasha Robinson, Mountwest Community and Technical
College, seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 2:30
pm.

Harbaugh reported that there were
few changes from last year's SB480 to this year's SB330.
Discussion ensued about support of the senate
and house bills that address personnel legislation changes.
Ken Harbaugh, Shepherd University,
made a motion that WVACCE express their sincere gratitude, on behalf of
classified employees statewide, to the Senate Education Committee and House
Education Committee for introducing personnel legislation in the 2011
legislative session that will benefit and improve the lives of higher education
employees in WV. Motion seconded by
Robert Long, WV Higher Education Policy Commission.
Motion unanimously approved.
There was no report from the committee;
however, there was a discussion among the members about
the need for ACCE to be prepared to answer any public opinion
venue questions about personnel legislation. Mike Dunn will ask the
committee to add a tab on the ACCE website to direct people that have questions about the personnel study.
Ellen Moore distributed a ballot
for a vote on the location of the Leadership Conference and WVACCE annual
retreat. After the results, of the vote,
were read Ken Harbaugh, Shepherd
University, made a motion that we hold the Leadership
Conference at Stonewall Resort, June 13-15, and the WVACCE yearly retreat at
Northbend State Park, July 18-20.
The motion was seconded by Tim Beardsley, WVU
at Parkersburg. Motion unanimously approved.
Mike Dunn pointed out that we will need to change our
presentation for April based on the outcome of the legislative session.
Paul Martinelli reported on an hour
long meeting that WVU's staff council had with their Institutional Board of
Governors. Martinelli reported that it
was a very positive meeting in which they discussed anticipated pay raises and the need for them to be equitable and base building.
He also reported that Lana Cooke gave the BOG
details about proposed anti-bullying legislation.
